Ancho Braised Lentils

Spicy food, Make it fast and Serve.

Add brown lentils, onion, finely diced, olive oil, dried ancho chilli, cinnamon stick and other ingredients. Then cook it fast and serve.

  1. Step

    5 Min

    Wash the lentils until the water runs clear. Gently sauté the onions in the olive oil until they soften. Add the lentils, bay leaves, ancho chilli and cinnamon stick and gently cook for another few minutes. Add 900ml water to bring to a simmer.

    Cook until very soft, add more water if needed. Lentils should be mashable. Stir through coriander, green chilli and ginger. Season with salt.

    Place the red onions in a container and stir through the pickling liquor. Can be used immediately. Keeps for 1 day.
